DESCRIPTION:On Wednesday evening\, April 22nd\, Poet Laureate of Stonington Christie Max Williams and the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center will present A Poetic Celebration of Earth Day featuring readings of poetry by student poets from Stonington High School. Joining them will be their teacher Mary Lou Devine who is\, herself\, an accomplished published poet. Their poems will span their words of praise for wild nature and cries of concern for the imperiled future of the natural world. Williams will also read his prize-winning poem Rock Me\, Mama\, a hymn of love and lamentation for endangered wildlife spectacles in America. Meets at DPNC. Free for all to attend. Seating is first-come first-served.
