The festivities begin at 5:00 p.m. with a dazzling parade of illuminated floats\, decorated vehicles and marching groups. The parade will step off from Groton Heights Baptist Church and travel along Church Street\, Broad Street\, Monument Street and Meridian Street before concluding at the City of Groton Municipal Building. Immediately following the parade\, continue the celebration at the Municipal Building with complimentary warm beverages and holiday treats\, live entertainment\, festive performances and caroling. Santa will also make a special appearance\, with photos available following his arrival until approximately 7:00 p.m. The lighting of the City's holiday tree will take place around 6:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring a canned food item or new\, unwrapped toy. Donations will be contributed to the City of Groton Police Department's Stuff a Cruiser event taking place on Sunday\, December 6th\, helping local families celebrate the holiday season.
