Description
This course offers a contemporary perspective on landscape painting for artists at any stage. Designed to deepen understanding of abstraction, painting techniques, and color, it provides structured exploration suitable for both beginning and experienced participants. Using acrylic paint, the course explores abstract expression as a way to convey ideas and emotions. Through memory or reference photos, students will interpret and simplify landscapes using key visual elements: color, line, shape, form, space, value, and texture. The course includes an introduction to color theory and guided studies of influential abstract artists such as Milton Avery, Etel Adnan, and Josef Albers. 5-week series Tuesdays, 1:30pm – 4pm October 21 – November 18 Ages: Youth and Adults Members $210 / Nonmembers $250
