Description

In this hands-on class, students will create a sculptural representation of a dragon or other mythical creature using needle felting techniques. The process begins with building a wire armature, followed by shaping the form with core wool. A top coat of colored wool fibers will be applied to refine the structure and add detail. Additional materials may be incorporated for features like teeth, claws, eyes, spines, and horns to enhance the creature’s character and realism. Throughout the course, students will learn to work with different types of felting needles, explore the properties of various wool fibers, and understand how to select and use them effectively.
