POSITION VACANCY

LABORER/SMALL TRUCK DRIVER, PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT

Full-time, 40 hours per week w/benefits

union, hourly, non-exempt

Starting Hourly Rate: $29.62/hour

The Laborer/Small Truck Driver performs work involving a variety of tasks relating to the construction, maintenance and repair of Town roads, bridges, grounds, buildings and recreational facilities. Operates small trucks which do not require a CDL license. This position requires independent judgment, initiative, maturity, observation and communication skills, and accuracy.

Graduation from High School, Vocational School graduate or GED equivalent, required. Minimum of one year of experience in the field of highway maintenance or construction work. Driving record check required prior to employment.

The Town of Stonington conducts a criminal background and drug test as part of the hiring process.
