Mystic Aquarium: Protecting Aquatic Life and Empowering Communities to Save our Oceans 

Explore the wonders of our ocean planet and the marine life that inhabits it at Mystic Aquarium. Mystic Aquarium is counted among the nation’s leading aquariums, offering exemplary care to a variety of species while also serving as the northeast’s premier marine mammal rescue and rehabilitation center. Home to over 300 species of animals, Mystic Aquarium is the only place in New England where the public can see beluga whales and the only place in the continental United States where people can see Steller sea lions. Mystic Aquarium is also one of only three institutions in the United States that is home to Northern fur seals. The outdoor exhibits will take you on a journey through the Pacific Northwest and Arctic Coast, and give you an opportunity to touch cownose rays. Inside the Main Gallery, immerse yourself in the aquatic world with habitats that feature sharks, rays, paddlefish, sturgeon, a sea turtle and more.

Connect with conservation through the California Sea Lion Show in our Marine Theater and then explore four incredible new and updated experiences at Mystic Aquarium that bring the wonders of the ocean to life. Pathways to the Deep brings together ocean science, technology, and careers to show how a deeper understanding of the ocean leads to real-world solutions—sparking curiosity, informed decision-making, and stewardship of marine ecosystems. The Kishfy Coral Lab showcases the Aquarium’s vital coral conservation and restoration efforts, providing visitors with a unique behind-the-scenes glimpse into the protection of fragile reef ecosystems. In Jellies: The Ocean in Motion, glowing jellies drift through beautifully redesigned habitats and vibrant displays, creating a mesmerizing experience that captures the beauty and mystery of these ancient ocean animals. Our brand-new arcade experience in World of Wonders, that boasts an Aerial Adventure Course, brings an exciting mix of energy, movement, and nostalgia to your visit. And like everything we do, it’s more than just fun. This new premiere interactive space helps support the Aquarium’s mission, with proceeds contributing to our animal care, conservation, and education efforts.
